The Canterville Ghost story from Oscar Wilde is a classic short story told through many generations for more than 100 years.

The story has been adapted for television and film more than a dozen times. With Shout! Studios and Blue Fox Entertainment, The Canterville Ghost is adapted in an animated form suitable for children with an expanded narration of its characters.

The voice cast includes Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Freddie Highmore, Emily Carey, David Harewood, Meera Syal, Miranda Hart, with Toby Jones and Imelda Staunton.

Here is the synopsis:

As the nineteenth gives way to the twentieth century and scientific invention brings forth new ways of transversing and seeing the world, a modern American family moves into their recently purchased, country home, Canterville Chase, in England, only to find it is haunted by a ghost. Sir Simon de Canterville has been haunting the grounds of Canterville Chase successfully for over three hundred years, but he meets his match when he tries to scare out the new arrivals.

Robert Chandler is an award-winning writer, director, and producer with over a 35-year career in film and television. He ran the Chase animation studio in London for five years, specializing in anime and manga. He set up The Deep, a CG-animated hit children’s series based on award-winning graphic novels written and DC’s Tom Taylor. He co-wrote A Christmas Number One which starred Frieda Pinto, Iwan Rheon, and Helena Zengel. Most recently, he was the creative producer for The Amazing Maurice which starred Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, David Thewlis, David Tennant, and Himesh Patel.

The Canterville Ghost is currently in theaters today.
