Graham and Parker Phillips direct Aaron Eckhart in fists action film along with Bella Thorne in Rumble Through The Dark. A film based on the novel, The Fighter by Michael Farris Smith.
The Synopsis
The acres and acres of fertile soil and 200-year-old antebellum house are all gone, and so is the foster mother who gave it to Jack Boucher (Aaron Eckhart). She’s only days away from dying, with a mind eroded by dementia and the family legacy she entrusted to Jack now owned by banks and strangers. Jack’s mind has begun to fail, too. Decades of bare-knuckle fighting are now taking their toll, as concussion after concussion forces him to carry around a stash of illegal painkillers and a notebook of names that separates friend from foe. But in a single twisted night, Jack loses his chance to win back all that’s been lost. Hijacked by a sleazy gambler out to settle a score, Jack is robbed of the money that will open a path that could lead him back home by clearing his debt with the queen of Delta vice, Big Momma Sweet (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), whose deep backwoods playground offers sin to all those willing to pay. Yet this sudden reversal of fortune introduces an unlikely savior in the form of a sultry, tattooed carnival worker named Annette (Bella Thorne). Guided by what she calls her “church of coincidence,” Annette pushes Jack toward redemption, only to discover the savage danger the world of Big Momma Sweet is filled with. Damaged by regret, crippled by 25 years of fists and elbows, and heartbroken by his own betrayals, Jack is forced to step into the fighting pit one last time, the stakes nothing less than life or death.
Besides being a director, Graham Phillips is also a writer and actor. As an actor he has appeared in Goats, Staten Island Summer, Kip Summer and seen in The Good Wife as “Zach Florrick.” This year he was heard in the Spider-Man 2 video game while voicing “Harry Osborn.” Parker joined his brother Parker Phillips in the journey of making films with the short, The Mediator. A film where they both took a part in the film. Parker has not been more focused on producing and directing. Do Not Go Gentle and Blackwood are two of their future projects together.
