Fans have been wondering why he’s been so quiet and new Barside Buzz says Julius Onah was sacked as director of Captain America: Brave New World. Now I’m saying up front that the source for this story is World of Reel and their hit rate is not good enough for me to cover them, normally.

A source close to the production has confirmed that Julius Onah is still on board as director of Captain America: Brave New World.

However, this one is worth covering because fans have started to ask, where is Julius? With all the recent promotions there has been no interviews with Onah about his upcoming movie. We also know that at some point the movie went through extensive reshoots which ballooned the budget to reportedly $400M.

“He’s in over his head. Onah will keep his directing credit on Brave New World, and he’s being a good sport about it, but he’s certainly not calling the shots on the movie.”

This would provide an explanation for why we’ve heard nothing from Onah for a long time. Although, the latest D23 convention I believe some journalists were told Onah had COVID so could not attend. So I will stress, I’m not saying this rumor is true, or false. It does however beg the question, where has he been? Why is he not promoting his own movie? His silence is, so far, a fact, as were those extensive and expensive reshoots, causing the film to be delayed.
I guess we shall have to see if and when Onah turns up before release?
