Correction: In an earlier article, it was mistakenly published that Channing Tatum is writing in the quote. In fact, Joe Manganiello said that Reid Carolin is writing. And as a point of clarification, Manganiello will have more input on his character in “Magic Mike XXL.” We regret this error.
Big Dick Richie is back.
And that’s probably a no brainer.
During an exclusive interview with Latino-Review, actor Joe Manganiello re-confirmed he will be back next installment of the male stripper movie, “Magic Mike XXL.â€
He told Latino-Review via phone.
“I will be Magic Mike 2. Yes. I did have my producer/director hat on for the past year and a half with ‘La Bare.’”
Manganiello admitted he may have a larger role in the movie.
This is what he told us:
“At some point during the summer, I’m going to have to get back into it. I’m starting to think about new routines. Greg Jacobs is directing and [Reid Carolin] is writing. I had them over at my place as I screened “La Bare†for them. We talked afterwards on what’s going down in the new movie.”
“They certainly asked for my help and my input now [on my character]. Certainly, now I’m a male entertainment expert. I have a wealth of information.I definitely will have more of an input on what my character gets to do on this one. It’ll be a lot of fun and it’ll be great.â€
The production date will start this fall since “Magic Mike XXL†is scheduled for a July 4th release date next year.
“La Bare†will a limited release in theaters on June 27. Look for the full interview this Friday with Joe Manganiello.
And in case you missed it earlier, actress Olivia Munn did confirm back in April that she won’t be back in the sequel. Another no brainer.
She told Latino-Review on the red carpet at WonderCon while promoting “Deliver Us From Evil†that she won’t be back. However, she did jokingly say that she will have full access to visit the set to watch the performances.
You can watch that interview below at the 1:56 minute mark, in which she talked about “Magic Mike 2.†“Deliver Us From Evil†is out in theaters on July 2nd.
