Deadpool Director Tim Miller Working On Solo Kitty Pryde Movie At Fox

While we’re all still waiting on Disney potentially buying out 20th Century Fox (pending a review from the Department of Justice), it sounds like Fox is continuing on, business as usual. This includes the development of characters who could effectively be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In addition to the likes of Deadpool, X-Men, New Mutants, and Gambit, it sounds like they’re also looking to create an unlikely spinoff of sorts from the X-Men. According to Collider, Deadpool director Tim Miller is hard at work on developing a solo Kitty Pryde film, in hopes of directing.

For those who are less familiar, Kitty Pryde is an X-Men with the ability to phase through walls, and the last time we saw this character in the X-Men films, she was played by Ellen Page in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The outlet made it clear that while the film is in development, this is no guarantee that it’ll actually get made. Even without Disney coming in and muddling things up, there are a good number of obstacles in the way of this getting made. For instance, look at the number of projects Miller is involved with. In addition to this, we have his producer work on Sonic the Hedgehog, his directing work for Terminator, and his work on the sci-fi film Neuromancer. Like many other successful filmmakers, Miller may just be throwing projects at the wall, and seeing what sticks.

However, this does prove that Fox isn’t just going to wait around for the next year. It’s better for them to continue with their work, and do what they can to stay successful and profitable.

What do you think of this latest development? Are there any Kitty Pryde-centric stories you want to see hit the big screen (sorry, Days of Future Past has already been done)? Let us know down below!
