Update: Veteran reporter and editor from TheWrap tweeted, “Sorry, Bradley Cooper fans: There’s no truth to the rumor he’ll be playing Lex Luthor in ‘Man of Steel.'” It is also strange the rumor surfaced on Cooper’s 37th birthday today. Happy birthday, Bradley Cooper.
It’s barely into 2012 and the first of the movie rumors is already spreading on the Internet.
The rumor is from a blog site Cosmic Book News about possibly actor Bradley Cooper making a certain cameo in the upcoming Superman movie “Man of Steel.â€
The blog also mentioned the specific role for Cooper to play in the movie, which is currently not confirmed or denied by Warner Brothers Pictures at this time.
A spoiler alert below on details of Cooper’s cameo appearance in the film.
Director Zach Snyder insisted several times the new movie will be rebooted in a different direction. So far, he consistently debunked any rumors about Lex Luthor being in the new Superman movie.
Well, Cosmic Book News claimed that Cooper may have a cameo as the arch-villain in the film—possibly setting up a future Superman follow-up film. It’s quite possible the appearance may be in the end credits as a set up similar to many previous comic book movies.
It’s very likely Snyder and the studio will firmly deny the rumor, which may or may not be true. It should also be reminded that our site Latino Review reported General Zod as the main villain last year. And they firmly denied it too and it ended up being true. So anything is possible.
“Man of Steel†stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon and Laurence Fishburne.
Warner Brothers Pictures will release the film in theaters on June 14 in 2013.
