Angelina Jolie Rejects ‘Salt 2’—Sort Of

It’s hard to please the superspy Evelyn Salt. Or more like actress Angelina Jolie.

MovieHole reported the actress rejected the “Salt 2” script from Kurt Wimmer. So it’s back to the computer for the original “Salt” screenwriter.

A sequel to “Salt” will only move forward with Jolie’s approval. And only with the right story.

The 2010 film grossed $294 million worldwide in the theaters. It followed a CIA agent who was on the run after a Russian defector accused her of being a spy for the enemy.

Jolie recently signed on to play the evil sorceress in the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures’ film “Maleficent.” She hasn’t appeared in films since 2010’s “The Tourist,” and “Salt.” She reprised her voice as Tigress last year with “Kung Fu Panda 2” and made her directorial feature film debut with “In the Land of Blood and Honey.”
