Bennett Miller and Francis Lawrence Are New Names to Possibly Direct ‘Catching Fire’

May the odds be ever in your favor.

IndieWire’s The Playlist has reported two new director names were added into the mix as the possible director of “The Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire.” The site named “Moneyball” director Bennet Miller and “I Am Legend” director Francis Lawrence as the possible candidates.

They will join the other names previously mentioned this week including David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.

Miller recently directed “Moneyball” last year that was nominted for six Oscar awards. And he directed 2005’s “Capote,” which earned Philip Seymour Hoffman the Oscar for best actor.

As for Lawrence, he has a long resume with films like “I Am Legend,” and “Constantine” under his belt. He even helmed the cute romance film “Water for Elephants” last year.

So far, “Catching Fire” is lining up very good directors as possibility to replace “The Hunger Games” director Gary Ross.

Maybe we can put all these directors into an arena and the last man standing—gets the job.
