Earlier this year, screenwriter Albert Torres was hired to write the film adaptation for the movie based on Cartoon Network’s “Ben 10.â€
The popular cartoon series have two more sequel series and multiple straight-to-television movies—so now it’s on to the big screen.
MTV News caught up with the creators of “Ben 10†and confirmed more details on the live-action plans for the movie.
Duncan Rouleau told MTV News, “We’ve met with [Joel] Silver a couple of times but it’s very early in the development stages to really discuss it any further than that. Other than we are also equally as excited by the prospects.â€
“It’s a live action film as far as we know,†Steven Seagle added. “They’ve commissioned a script, which is exciting and we had a lot of cool conversations with Joel Silver the time we met with him about even which version it’ll be, what aliens kids like, and it’s super fun. But it’s super early, so not a lot has been firmly decided.â€
The film will be about a boy who discovers the Omnitrix that allows him to transform into ten different alien species.
Torres recently did a rewrite on the Warner Brothers’ script for “Akira.†He wrote the story for 2008’s “Henry Poole Is Here.â€
Silver Pictures’ Joel Silver, Andrew Rona and Steve Richards will be producing the project.
