Kids in the Spotlight held its annual fundraiser in Sherman Oaks, Calif. this past weekend.

The cocktails was hosted by actor Ty Burrell of ABC’s MODERN FAMILY to support the non-profit organization that works with youth in foster care programs and other underserved youth communities to tell their personal stories through short films.

The program assists children from ages 11 to 18 as they are trained in the essentials of filmmaking using the software and equipment used by professionals in the industry. It helps the children the value of teamwork and discipline as it improves their self-image and sense of accomplishment.

LRM was invited to cover the red carpet. Attendees on the red carpet included Burrell, Mo McRae (PITCH, EMPIRE), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (SUITS, AMERICAN CRIME STORY), and Ben Vereen (THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW).

For more information on Kids in the Spotlight organization, a special feature is included in the upcoming MODERN FAMILY season 7 DVD/Blu-ray, which will be released on September 20.
