Liam Neeson to Star in ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’

It’s always nice to see another movie with Liam Neeson beating the crap out of bad guys.

Exclusive Media and Cross Creek Pictures announced during the Cannes Film Festival that Neeson will star in “A Walk Among the Tombstones.”

The film is about a former NYPD cop, who is now an unlicensed private eye and recovering alcoholic, is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. He operates just outside the law where the police don’t go to track down the kidnappers, who he discovers have been involved in multiple kidnappings and brutal murders.

It is written and to be directed by Scott Frank (“The Lookout”) and based on the author Lawrence Block’s “Matt Scudder” book series.

According to a press release, the project is the first of a three-year 50-50 co-financing, co-producing and co-development for a minimum of two feature films per annum with budgets up to $65 million.

Double Feature Films partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher are producing along with Danny DeVito and his company, Jersey Films.

“A Walk Among the Tombstones” will be released through Universal Pictures and principal photography will begin February of next year in New York City.
