Carey Mulligan Is Leading Candidate to Play Hillary Clinton in ‘Rodham’ Biopic

CareyMulliganCroppedIn the crowded ballot to play Hillary Rodham Clinton, actress Carey Mulligan is now rumored to lead the pack in Temple Hill and The Arlook Group’s biopic “Rodham.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers are strongly considering the “The Great Gatsby” actress to play the former first lady/Secretary of State/New York Senator.

Other names rumored on the list will include Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone. Sources told THR that the actress will meet with director James Ponsoldt before making a final decision.

This indie drama is the talk in the entertainment industry and political circles. The story involves Hillary as a young lawyer involved with President Richard Nixon’s impeachment and her relationship with future POTUS Bill Clinton.

The script was written by Young Il Kim and was on the 2012 Black List.

And here’s a great side-by-side photos of the actress and Hillary Clinton from THR. The likeness is pretty good.
