slamdanceAVOS Systems, Inc. announced the MixBit mobile app contest for the filmmakers at The Slamdance Film Festival next year.

This contest allows the filmmakers to upload their trailers to MixBit.com, in which Slamdance attendees and the MixBit community can remix the high quality clips and create the trailers in new creative ways.

“When we created the MixBit app for iOS and Android, our goal was to enable people to tell better stories and create better video by giving them the tools to record, edit and publish videos from the palm of their hand,” said Chad Hurley, AVOS Co-Founder. “Through our partnership with the Slamdance Film Festival on this trailer competition, we are now letting people interact with the content in a way never seen before.”

Ten finalists from this contest will have its trailer played during the festival. The grand prize winner will receive a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.

The competition will start on December 6 at www.MixBit.com/Slamdance and ends on January 3rd next year.

The 2014 Slamdance Film Festival will take place from January 17-23 next year in Park City, Utah at the Treasure Mountain Inn.
