Chris Pine To Cross ‘The Line’

PineFans of Chris Pine can rest easy! After his Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit vastly underperformed at the box office, the blue-eyed actor will, alas, still be able to get work. Variety is reporting that he has signed on to star in The Line.

David Gordon Green, perhaps best known for directing the stoner comedy duo of Pineapple Express and Your Highness, will be helming this thriller. The plot is said to center around a border patrol agent, on the run with a boy whose family was just killed by a cartel. His own wife and child were recently killed and, while trying to keep the boy alive, he discovers that both sides of the border seem to be gunning for the two of them.

Green is currently in post-production for Manglehorn, a drama starring Al Pacino, Chris Messina, and Holly Hunter. Chris Pine has a heavy load of projects ahead. He recently completed Stretch, is currently filming the musical Into The Woods, is soon to start on Mantivities, and a third Star Trek is still slowly ramping up.

No word yet on who else will appear in The Line. Nor is there a release date as of now.
