Earlier today, we got our hands on this fan-made film based on the Deus Ex video game franchise. It’s being hosted over on Machinima, the same site that gave us the Mortal Kombat: Legacy series and a bunch of other cool fan-projects.
Square Enix’s critically-acclaimed third Deus Ex game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has been an inspiration for many forms of media including a DC Comic Book series. While people continue to wait on word of the Deus Ex feature length movie, Dcode Film founder Moe Charif gives the game live-action treatment with an all-new short that airs on Machinima Prime next Tuesday, March 25. Charif also plays Adam Jensen in the program, which focuses on Jensen’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend Megan Reed.

It’s based on the video game Deus Ex Human Revolution. Although the film doesn’t follow the narrative of the game exactly, it remains true to the theme while focusing on the relationship between Adam Jensen, and his ex girlfriend Megan Reed, a scientist hand picked by Serif Industries to head Cybernetic Augmentations. The film also taps, even if briefly, into Adam’s mind and the struggle he faces in accepting his new reality.
What do you guys think? Did they properly capture was Deus Ex is all about? Should the folks working on the real Deus Ex movie watch this and take notes?
