All Is By My Side will follow the early career of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, leading up to his meteoric rise to fame. The biopic stars multi-platinum recording artists Andre Benjamin, of OutKast, as the charismatic Hendrix, and has a cast that also includes Imogen Poots (Fright Night), Hayley Atwell (Captain America), and Burn Gorman (The Dark Knight Rises). John Ridley, who won an Academy Award this past Sunday for his work on the 12 Years A Slave screenplay, wrote and directed the film.

We’ve now been given our first glimpse of the film itself with this brief clip. It shoes Hendrix (Benjamin) having a conversation with Linda Keith (Poots), a beautiful young model that had dated Keith Richard of The Rolling Stones, and had a major hand in getting Hendrix discovered.

All Is By My Side will begin its rollout overseas on May 9 in Sweden, and will also be featured in the SXSW festival in Austin, TX next week.
