A Closer Look At Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams

Wednesday

Sometime this fall we are going to be treated to Tim Burton’s Wednesday on Netflix. The star of the show as mentioned in the title will be the oldest of the siblings, Wednesday Addams played by Jenna Ortega. Although we can argue that all of the Addams family characters are iconic, there has always been something special about Wednesday.

We have seen Wednesday in live-action, animated, and even musical roles in the past. So how will this version of her character stand out? To get to know her a little better, Netflix has released a featurette featuring Jenna Ortega, Tim Burton, and some of the other cast to talk about the character. Check it out below!

This is a great Wednesday featurette. I feel that Ortega will be bringing us a very authentic take on the classic character. It is interesting to hear Catherine Zeta-Jones refer to Ortega’s humor similar to her characters.

Ortega is really starting to make a name in the horror genre. While the Addams are a lot more whacky than scary it still falls under the same umbrella. She has been in features like Scream, A24’s X, and The Babysitter: Killer Queen.
