There’s nothing like a good Batman game. Recent big-budget entries in the Arkham franchise gave gamers a chance to fill the boots of everyone’s favorite billionaire. Given how many of us grew up reading and watching the character, it was empowering to actually control him in a meaningful way. But five years have passed since the Batman: Arkham Knight, and fans have been eager for another entry, and Warner Bros. Montreal has been expecting to announce one very soon.

But how soon? Well, you may all recall a little event call E3 used to exist, right? Yes, it was a magical event for all things games where fans could once gather to hear announcements and play demos of upcoming releases. Of course, with COVID-19, the event was canceled. With it, the possibility of the aforementioned Batman game? Well, apparently not.

According to the outlet Game Reactor, the developer is planning on showing the game “within a couple of months.” In spite of the pandemic or the recent Black Lives Matter protests, the game could even “release sooner than” we think. Sadly, there are no more details regarding the game, but given that we’re supposed to be hearing about it soon enough as it is, that’s probably for the best.
