A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 will continue to the misadventures of the Baudelaire children, whose parents were killed at the start of the very first season. From there, they hopped around from foster parent to foster parent, in hopes that one will give them the happy life they deserve. Unfortunately, at every turn, any hopes of having a normal existence was pulled away from them by the villainous Count Olaf, who is dead-set on taking their inheritance.

Along the way, the Baudelaires are met by woefully inept adults, who honestly — despite all their best intentions — don’t do much to actually do the jobs they set out to do.

Based on this new trailer, it looks like this new season will have a fittingly charming and darkly fantastical style. The first season of the show covered the first four books, and this new season will be covering the next five — with every two episodes covering one full book.
