A Wrinkle in Time looks to bring magic to the theater next March, and while the production for the film has been wrapped for some time, director Ava DuVernay and her team are still currently hard at work at making the film. One important aspect that needs to make it into the film is music.
DuVernay took to Twitter a few days back, and on it, she teased the new composer for the film, saying:
“I’ve listened to his music for years and swooned. Thrilled to announce that [Ramin Djawadi] joins the WRINKLE IN TIME family as our composer!”

Ramin Djawadi may not be a household name, but you’ve likely heard his music before, as he is the composer of such high profile HBO projects like Game of Thrones and Westworld, not to mention films like The Great Wall, Pacific Rim, and Iron Man.
As you’ve noticed, his sound is wildly diverse, depending on the project itself, so it’s hard to predict what we’ll be getting out of this score. However, given the trippy nature of the source material, we expect the music to share some of those aspects with it. We can’t wait to hear what DuVernay and Djawadi come up with.
A Wrinkle in Time has an all-star cast that includes Chris Pine, Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Galifianakis, and Michael Peña. It hits theaters on March 9, 2018.
