Aasif Mandvi brings a little humor in Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank as Ichiro. A film that covered all its bases with humor and action. 

The Synopsis 

A hard-on-his-luck hound Hank (Michael Cera, “Superbad”) finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero to defend them from a ruthless villain’s (Ricky Gervais, “The Office”) evil plot to wipe their village off the map. With help from a reluctant teacher (Samuel L. Jackson, “Pulp Fiction”) to train him, our underdog must assume the role of town samurai and team up with the villagers to save the day. The only problem… cats hate dogs!

The actor Aasif Mandvi was born in India and raised in England. Until the age of 16 his family relocated to Tampa, Florida. After Mandvi graduated with a theater degree from the University of South Florida he was a performer at the Disney-MGM Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Shortly after he pursued Broadway where he worked in productions like Oklahoma!  

His debut on television was on an episode of the 80s series Miami Vice then came other hits like ER, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Us & Them and Paramount+ Evil. As for films, Mandvi has been seen in The Proposal, Disney’s Million Dollar Arm and earlier this year in Hulu’s Crush as coach Murray.

I was connected with Aasif Mandvi via Zoom to talk about the upcoming film Paws Of Fury: The Legend Of Hank.  Mandvi spoke about the duo his character, Ichiro has with Chuck played by Gabriel Iglesias. In addition to actually getting to work together for a few scenes and more!
