The Conner family is headed back to television, albeit without the Roseanne Barr. ABC has given the go-ahead for a spin-off called The Conners that is set to debut this fall on the network. Roseanne Barr will have no involvement with the show moving forward, but it appears as if she and the network agreed on a settlement, according to a statement.
“I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved.”

Talk of a spin-off happened almost immediately after the show was canceled by ABC due to a controversial tweet by Barr. The show’s revival debuted to just ridiculous ratings, so it’s no surprise the network has worked to bring back most of the cast, which will include Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Lecy Goranson, Laurie Metcalf, and Michael Fishman.
In a joint statement with ABC, the aforementioned cast members had this to say:
“We have received a tremendous amount of support from fans of our show, and it’s clear that these characters not only have a place in our hearts, but in the hearts and homes of our audience. We all came back last season because we wanted to tell stories about the challenges facing a working-class family today. We are so happy to have the opportunity to return with the cast and crew to continue to share those stories through love and laughter.”
