The latest Barside Buzz around Agatha: Coven of Chaos is the episode count and also two directors who will helm episodes of the upcoming Disney+ show. According to The Illuminerdi, Agatha will be nine episodes long, which is a little different from most Marvel shows we’ve seen thus far. Additionally the outlet says they’ve heard that creator Jac Schaeffer and Gandja Monteiro will be directing at least one episode apiece. Here is what the outlet reported exactly.
Our sources have indicated that Agatha: Coven of Chaos creator Jac Schaeffer will direct at least one episode of the show. Furthermore, our sources have also indicated that Gandja Monteiro is directing at least one episode of the show as well.
But that is not all, as we can also exclusively confirm that Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to be a 9-episode Limited series. That would set it on par with its predecessor WandaVision and the most recent MCU show She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. It remains to be seen if the 9 episodes will have a similar runtime as those aforementioned Disney+ shows or if they’ll clock in closer to a hour. Just like WandaVision, it looks like Agatha’s solo adventure will only last for one season.

I guess Schaeffer at least makes a lot of sense. However I feel like there’s probably more names involved with directing than we’ve yet heard about. Ergo, keep an eye out for more news soon. As for the episode count it really doesn’t concern me whatsoever. As always, the show will live and die by the writing and how engaging it is every week. All of that of course remains to be seen.
