Here’s my Agatha All Along Episode 4 review, and this was was my least favourite so far, that being said, it’s still fun. Keeping with the pattern so far this is a SPOILER FREE review folks, so no worries there. Last week I predicted we were seeing the formula appear for this series that would carry on. I was right, but that’s not a bad thing.
It’s overall a good premise for a series. Each week a new task, the characters find out more about each other and we get some character development as well. Last week’s task ended on a shocker and the coven is a woman down. Guess they better do something about that…
Overall I still like the cast, they interact well with each other. There’s a certain chemistry, with Hahn however, still being the main draw as Agatha. This week a few seeds have been sown for each of our characters and one of our witches was the focus of the task.

My reasons for this one not being my favourite are simple. The task itself, I didn’t find this week’s test nearly as interestingly done as the one last week. There’s a singing section that never really hit the right note for me (no pun intended). It was played for laughs, I just didn’t find it all that amusing, or cool, or interesting in any way. I’m not saying I disliked it. However, I kinda found myself detuning a little and retuning in when it ended.
No biggie, but there we go. We do get an appearance from a character who wasn’t around last week, (but we’ve met already). It certainly adds to the intrigue. Though, any mystery identity is pretty obvious to most fans I would have thought. That’s not the real mystery though I don’t think. It’s not the who, but the why and when. There’s a bit more to discover about each of our witches yet, and Teen. I get the feeling Agatha will be tested (in a character developing way) before the end.
Still fun, still low budget, so likely profitable. Happy days, what else do you want from a PG-13 TV series? It’s not winning any Emmy’s but it’s viewing figures are good. That’s because Agatha is simple, yet mysterious in small ways, and fun. Especially important is that this little corner of the MCU is kinda being developed by this show. Agatha so far has no real implications to the wider MCU and that’s fine.
GRADE: B-
Middle of the season filler territory usually for Marvel and actually it wasn’t bad at all. Happy with that so far.
