If you’re anything like me, navigating the multitude of streaming service accounts can make choosing what to watch at night quite challenging. It seems like most of my evenings are spent endlessly scrolling through the catalogs of Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Hulu, HBO Max, and others. Whenever I do manage to decide on something to watch, the real struggle begins as I try to figure out which streaming platform offers that particular show or movie.
JustWatch, a popular streaming guide and search engine, has just released its streaming statistics for the month of September, and the results are in: Ahsoka, unsurprisingly, dominated as the most-streamed show of the month.
Ahsoka made its debut on Disney+ on September 2nd, and it didn’t take long for fans of the franchise to embrace this latest addition to the Star Wars universe. The show focuses on the enigmatic Jedi Ahsoka Tano, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, as she navigates a galaxy still reeling from the effects of the end of the Empire and the threat of the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

JustWatch, known for providing real-time streaming data, reported that Ahsoka shot to the top of the streaming charts immediately after its premiere. Ahsoka not only capitalized on the rich Star Wars lore but also benefited from a dedicated fan base that has been eagerly awaiting Ahsoka Tano’s return to live action. The character, originally introduced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and further developed in Star Wars Rebels, had already captured the hearts of many Star Wars enthusiasts.
While JustWatch’s data doesn’t provide specific viewership numbers, only Disney really knows if Ahsoka has had a significant impact on Disney+’s subscriber numbers and continues to draw audiences into the platform. For fans of the character and show they should hope the success of Ahsoka bodes well for the future of Star Wars and gets a second season.
