Ahsoka star Ivanna Sakhno gives an update on Season 2 filming progress in a recent interview, and hypes what’s to come. Sakhno plays Shin, the dark apprentice to the late Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll in Season 1 of Ahsoka. The role of Baylan will be played by Game of Thrones actor Rory McCann in Season 2 at least. What happens beyond Season 2 is anyone’s guess at this point. The future of live-action Star Wars TV is uncertain to say the least in the current climate.
However, Season 2 is coming and speaking with Games Radar, Sakhno was loathe to give many details, but she did say filming was still taking place.
“You know, there’s absolutely nothing that I can speak on at the moment, and I wish I could share with you something at least, because it’s such an exciting time for us to be back together, and we’re currently in the middle of filming it,” Sakhno tells GamesRadar+. “All I can say is that it is bigger and even more in-depth, and I’m really excited for people to see it. It means the world.”

As always, with any Star Wars content, I hope for excellence. However, I also have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with Ahsoka Season 1. Shin and Baylan were the best part of it. However, overall, tonally it just felt like a live-action cartoon for me. There just wasn’t enough drama, or character development on show.
I had hoped that Season 2 may focus purely on Ahsoka, Sabine, Baylan and Shin. However, it is clear from the little we know that the New Republic, Hera, Ezra, Thrawn story will also be continued. There’s almost too much happening to really spend any quality time on each story/character.
I guess we will find out next year sometime?
