Whether you love it or hate it, it seems as though Marvel can do no wrong. They are fourteen films into their pioneering Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there is no sign of them slowing down. If that wasn’t enough, they are currently four-for-four on their Netflix series, which have so far included two seasons of Daredevil, one season of Jessica Jones, and one season of Luke Cage. Thus far, all of these ventures into the darker, more meditated regions of the MCU have been resounding successes, both critically and on the ratings front.

It comes as no real surprise, then, that Luke Cage has officially been confirmed for a second season, as announced via the show’s official social media pages.

You can check out the announcement video below!

Between Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders, Season 3 of Daredevil, Season 2 of Jessica Jones, and now Season 2 of Luke Cage, it looks like the well being of this band of shows is looked out for. So long as they continue tellingcompelling stories in an ever-changing landscape, there is no reason these series shouldn’t continue to be huge successes for Marvel. The big question, of course, is how they will incorporate change between these shows. How will they alternate between seasons? Can we expect to start getting one every year, or will they continue to treat each season of a different show as Marvel Studios treats their films: as event properties?

Our gut is on the latter. This will become especially important down the line when each of these characters start to cross over into each others’ series more often. But how will the storytelling change as they go on? That’s something we’re interested in finding out. Are you excited to see Luke Cage enter its second season? What do you expect to see from Power Man himself in his next outing? Let us know your thoughts down below!
