According to some new Barside Buzz around The Acolyte, Amandla Stenberg is reportedly playing Sith and Jedi identical twins in the series. The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service. Now, as much as I’ll vouch for RPK‘s hit rate with Marvel, it’s not quite as solid with Star Wars. That being said, I know RPK does have some sources for that side of the Disney isle.
RPK claims he’s been told that Stenberg plays identical twins in the series, both coming from Sith lineage. One was taken by the Jedi and trained, the other, by the Sith. Now this does match fairly close to some of the earliest leaks we had for The Acolyte . Those leaks were from a source that got shut down hard by Lucasfilm. The series will seemingly follow the Sith twin as she is tasked with assassinating a Jedi Master (Carrie Anne-Moss). This Jedi Master is known for defeating her opponents without the use of her lightsaber. Therefore Stenberg’s character trains in hand to hand combat.
However, what sounds a little weird is the next claim from RPK that Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) also plays good and evil versions of the same character. There is no claim Jacinto is also an identical twin, which frankly would just be silly, so not sure how this one shapes up?

As you can see we also had some production BTS leaks last week which we marked as SPOILERS. I won’t get into the details here because that’s less of a rumor and more factual. However they do describe a lightsaber duel between two of the series stars. If you don’t mind a few mild spoilers, then check that one out.
As for these rumors, the Stenberg part of this story makes a lot of sense to me. This may explain some confusion over the early leaks we had. However, like all rumors take this with a pinch of salt for now. As for the Jacinto part, I can only assume some kind of personality disorder. However, this could be as simple as someone breaking bad after a certain point in the show.
