Amber Chardae Robinson is one of the strong voices in the new detective drama, Palm Royale. A story based on the Mr. and Mrs.American Pie novel written by Juliet McDaniel. During a time of drastic change in human rights and racial equality but yet there was a bubble with other hot topics that were of more importance.
The Synopsis
Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig, “Bridesmaids”) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: “How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?” Set during the powder keg year of 1969, Palm Royale is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong.
The Texan actress Amber Chardae Robinson graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in theater from Prairie View A&M University and continued a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University. Robinsons first role was in 2015 for AMC’s series Hell on Wheels. Other projects include Stuber, Judas and the Black Messiah, and Loot and Moving On. Last year she appeared in 80 for Brady and So Help Me Todd. Reminisce is a future project with Julia Ormond and Bruce Dern.

I had a chance to speak with Amber Chardae Robinson via Zoom for Palm Royale. She discussed getting to play a character’s side she had not played before. As well as to her experience in getting to work with Laura Dern and seeing her an executive producer of the series. In addition to the set, fun wardrobe and what she hopes women take away from watching this detective drama.
