I had the opportunity to connect with Carla Gutiérrez during the Sundance Film Festival. The location where Frida made its premiere. We talked about her journey in finding archives never seen before, including Frida Kahlo’s own words. Plus learning about her humor with the use of flowery words and how she embraced her Latinidad. In addition to what it is that attracted her to Kahlo, the animation done with her paintings in the film and more!
