Amelia Moses on Influences for a Werewolf Movie with Bloodthirsty [Exclusive Interview]

Director Amelia Moses has been a fan of werewolves movies and horror for quite some time.

With Bloodthirsty came across her desk, she jumped on the opportunity in the storytelling of a different kind of werewolf movie. The is film presents a story of discovery and yet keeping the blood and special effect transformations we hold dearly like in An American Werewolf in London.

The movie stars Lauren Beatty, Greg Bryk, Katharine King So, and Michael Ironside. Amelia Moses directed the film.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Grey, an indie singer, whose first album was a smash hit, gets an invitation to work with notorious music producer Vaughn Daniels at his remote studio in the woods. Together with her girlfriend/lover Charlie, they arrive at his mansion, and the work begins. But Grey is having visions that she is a wolf, and as her work with emotionally demanding Vaughn deepens, the vegan singer begins to hunger for meat and the hunt. As Grey starts to transform into a werewolf, she begins to find out who she really is, and begins to discover the family she never knew. What will it take to become a great artist and at what cost to her humanity?

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with director Amelia Moses on her werewolf influences and her personal drive using practical and bloody effects in her films.

Amelia Moses is a horror director, who burst into the horror scene with the acclaimed short film Undress Me. Last year, she followed up with a tale of horror paranoia with Bleed with Me. Bloodthirsty is her sophomore feature movie.

Bloodthirsty is in select theaters and On Demand today. Also, the film is distributed through Raven Banner Releasing in Canada.
