In the past decades, the immigrant family stories on the American dream have been met with hope and horrors, with deportation fears, government bureaucracy confusion, and families torn apart.

Based on numerous true stories and real people, America’s Family tells a narrative story of one immigrant family struggling to cope with ICE agents seeking to deport family members after a raid.

The film stars Anike Tourse (One Life to Live, Girlfriends), Mauricio Mendoza (Reboot, Resurrection Blvd.), Emmanuel López Alonso (In The Heights, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Richard Cisneros (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mayans M.C.), Jailene Arias (The Good Place, The Delivery Man), Baltimore Beltran_Mariela (Revolver Mind, Tattoo of Revenge), and Aida Rodriguez (The Comedian, They Ready).

Anike Tourse directed the movie.

Here is the official synopsis:

America’s Family tells the story of how when ICE raids the Diaz family home on Thanksgiving, Mother Marisol is arrested and locked up in detention, son Koke is deported to Mexico, and Father Jorge flees for protective sanctuary in a local synagogue. The two American-born children; young attorney Emiliano and his teen sister Valentine (while also managing her epilepsy) race to do whatever they can to reunite the family while their parents and brother do what they must to get home.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actor Emmanuel López Alonso on this latest project, as the young lawyer found legal pathways to save his family.

Emmanuel López Alonso is an actor and dancer who appeared as a featured dancer in Lin Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights. He made his Broadway debut with the role of Cuban musician Kiki in On Your Feet!” His other dance performances included Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017, Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl, and Universal Dance Awards. On television, he appeared in Penny Dreadful: City of Angeles, Russian Doll, and Blindspot.

America’s Family will be available to rent and purchase everywhere on digital HD, including Apple TV, Vudu, Google Play, and Amazon, starting tomorrow, December 5^th.
