Today we have the Disney+ 2024 lineup confirmed and there’s only three Marvel shows and two Star Wars shows coming next year. A press release for Disney+ UK has been issued showcasing the 2024 offerings. Frankly, there’s a lot less Star Wars and MCU content than we are used to.
We will start with Star Wars.
I’m sure Lucasfilm originally pencilled in The Mandalorian Season 4. However, clearly that show has now slipped to 2025. The two Star Wars shows confirmed for 2024 are The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew.
‘“Star Wars: The Acolyte” will premiere on Disney+ in 2024. The series is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.’
‘“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” tells the story of four kids who find themselves lost in the vastness of the galaxy trying to find their way home. This series will arrive on the platform in 2024.’
If you recall at one point Skeleton Crew was planned for 2023. However, that was before the dark times, before the strikes.

As for Marvel we are getting two live-action series in 2024 and one animated series.
‘Marvel Studios’ “Echo” will arrive on 10 January 2024, with all episodes available. The series tells the origin story of Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.’
‘Marvel fans can also look forward to the highly anticipated “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” series arriving in 2024, with Kathryn Hahn reprising her fan-favourite role of Westview’s resident Darkhold reader, Agatha.’
‘Upcoming animated Disney+ original series from Marvel Studios, “X-Men ’97” also arrives on the platform in 2024.’
Likewise, pre-strikes at one point Echo was supposed to be the final Marvel series on 2023.
So that is your Disney+ 2024 lineup. Subscribers are getting three Marvel shows and two Star Wars series. Of course there are other shows releasing in 2024 and you can see the full list in the link above. However, I do wonder what the point of maintaining Disney+ for another year is at this point.
