Anchorman Returning…In Podcast Form

If you can believe it, it’s been five years since Ron Burgundy returned to the big screen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. While that movie may not have lived up to the lofty expectations of some fans, there is no denying that the character of Ron Burgundy still manages to somehow remain somewhat relevant in the pop culture zeitgeist.

There have been plenty of fans hoping for a third film at some point, and while we sadly cannot confirm any goings on in the film department, I’m happy to report that fans will get their Ron Burgundy fix in a different way. According to Deadline, Will Ferrell will be reviving his character for a 12-episode podcast. The podcast will be produced by iHeartRadio and Funny or Die and will be launched on the iHeartRadio Podcast Network in early 2019. This has been followed up by a series of tweets from the official Ron Burgundy Podcast Twitter account interacting with CNN’s Don Lemon.
