Welcome to the latest Barside Buzz of which there’s been a ton of Star Wars news lately. Today, is Andor three seasons long? That’s what The Playlist EIC Rodrigo Perez says below on Twitter.
I should clarify, this is the creator intention. Should it “bomb,” that prolly wouldn’t be the case.

So far I think it’s safe to say there was no secret Andor would be getting a Season 2. It’s also majorly rumored that Season 1 will be a lengthy 12 episodes long. However Andor three seasons long is a new rumor to me. As you can se above, Perez has heard Tony Gilroy is showrunning all three seasons. We don’t yet have a date for when Andor Season 1 will air, but it is sure to be sometime in 2022. Best guess right now is a late Summer-Fall start for Andor. That means most insiders, including LRM are predicting Obi-Wan Kenobi airs first.

As you can see in the related link above, something is expected to be shown of Andor at the Disney+ Day on November 12th. What is shown, whether it be more sizzle reals or a genuine teaser, remains to be seen? Though the story above (source: SWNN) indicates another sizzle reel approach for now.
The way I see it, there isn’t a hell of a lot of time to play with in Andor. Cassian does die relatively young at the end of Rogue One. How many years can we really cover Cassian’s life before that point and still believe Diego Luna is Cassian? That’s why my guess was always two season, but if this rumor is correct, perhaps it’s one more? Anything further I would seriously doubt at this point.
