Andy de Emmony Film Four Kids and ItAndy de Emmony was granted one wish from a Psammead, and it was to direct Four Kids and It.
Jacqueline Wilson’s popular children’s story “Four Children and It” was adapted for the screen. Simon Lewis and Mark Oswin wrote the screenplay. It was up to director De Emmony to successfully translate the magical story from page to screen.
The story follows four children who take a vacation to Cornwall. On the beach, they meet a creature called Psammead, who has the powers to grant wishes. As each child receives their wish, the consequences of the wishes are not as expected. Unbeknownst to the children, an evil hunter is also on the prowl tracking down the magical creature.
The film stars Matthew Goode, Paula Patton, Russell Brand, and Michael Caine as the voice of Psammead. The children are played by Ashley Aufderheide, Billy Jenkins, Ellie-Mae Siame, and Teddie-Rose Malleson-Allen.
