Some Marvel Barside Buzz says Mephisto will return in Ghost Rider, and it’s sequel team-up movie Midnight Sons is still in development. Let’s get into the latest from Daniel RPK on Patreon. The leaker begins by saying Ghost Rider will film July, 2027, but we already got that rumor last week.
However, Daniel also claims he’s heard that Sacha Baron Cohen is returning as Mephisto in the film. Recently Cohen said he had no idea if he was in the film and we know he’s not the main villain. That role will be handled by Conor Storrie, (see below).
It would be a tad strange for Ghost Rider not to feature Mephisto given he’s essentially Ghost Rider’s boss. Plus it’s the perfect place to further set up Mephisto as a big bad for down the line.

Finally Daniel claims that the oft-rumored Midnight Sons movie is still in development and should be Gosling’s next appearance as the character. It will be interesting to see how this movie would be retooled now that Mahershala Ali is done waiting to be Blade. Will Marvel look to cast another actor as Blade and give him his debut, or will they just replace his character with another?
At one point we figured it would be Blade (Ali), Black Knight (Kit Harington), Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) and the uncast (at that time) Ghost Rider. Now Gosling is in and it feels like we are unlikely to see the other three ever return. So who knows what form it will take?
