WandaVision May Actually Be Nine Episodes Long | LRM’s Barside Buzz

WandaVision to be nine episodes long?

In the time since the Marvel Studios Disney+ series were revealed, it’s largely been agreed upon that the shows would be fairly short. Specifically, that they would run about six episodes in length. In fact, this is something that seemed to cross into all the shows we have planned. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki were all reported to be six episodes in length. Even recent comments from Anthony Mackie indicate that the former series is still looking at around six episodes. But will this be a hard-and-fast rule at Disney+?

If we are to believe a new rumor from Murphy’s Multiverse, not at all. The outlet is stating that WandaVision may be as long as nine episodes in length. This came following a hunt online, wherein the outlet found the resume of a stuntperson who worked on WandaVision. The interesting part? The stuntperson wrote they worked on episode 109. As in the ninth episode of the first season…meaning WandaVision could be nine episodes long.

The outlet went on to say that while they found the resume online, they know for a fact that the person in question has worked on WandaVision. So, this isn’t a case where they just stumbled onto some nobody’s page with a bunch of nonsense printed. But what does this new find mean for WandaVision?

Of course, it could mean we are in for an extended season of the show. In a streaming world, shows can be as long as they need to be. So the standard season runs are kind of a thing of the past. As such, this could be a situation where episodes are shorter in length, or vary between short and long. We already know that WandaVision is a weird show, so who’s to say that each episode is an hour long?

While I do believe the report that nine episodes are a possibility, I do think the series as a whole will still run around six hours in length. Marvel Studios has to make sure these shows long expensive. And if you’re stretching $100 to $150 million over nine hourlong episodes, you run the risk of the production values between them and the feature films dropping tremendously.
