Angel Has Fallen: Olympus Has Fallen Threequel Sees Gerard Butler Protecting The President Once Again

Being president of the United States is exhausting as hell in Hollywood. Dude is always almost getting assassinated, so he has to turn to the likes of Gerard Butler to protect him. But, with Angel Has Fallen being the third film in the “Fallen” series that began with Olympus Has Fallen, they are changing some stuff up, this time framing their lead character with the attempted murder of the president, resulting in his reputation falling…the guardian angel, so to speak, falling.

Butler now has to get to the bottom of this framing conspiracy to clear his name and presumably save the president from being finished off by the true assassins. Oh yeah, and Nick Nolte is playing Gerard Butler’s dad. That’s pretty damn cool, I have to say, and while I haven’t been the biggest fans of the previous two movies, this one looks pretty tense.

Below is the official synopsis for Angel Has Fallen:

“When there is an assassination attempt on U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman), his trusted confidant, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), is wrongfully accused and taken into custody. After escaping from capture, he becomes a man on the run and must evade his own agency and outsmart the FBI in order to find the real threat to the President. Desperate to uncover the truth, Banning turns to unlikely allies to help clear his name, keep his family from harm and save the country from imminent danger.”

Angel Has Fallen is directed by Ric Roman Waugh from a screenplay by Robert Mark Kamen and Matt Cook & Ric Roman Waugh, story by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt, and based on characters created by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt. Lionsgate and Millennium Media present, a Millennium Films/G-Base production.
