
In anticipation of Chinese New Year and A Writer’s Odyssey film, renowned Michelin star chef Anito Lo has a special treat for fans.
On her Instagram tomorrow, Lo prepared a special cooking class inspired by the film at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET on her account at www.instagram.com/anitalonyc.
The cooking lesson will be a traditional Chinese dish of longevity noodles with beef in celebration of Chinese New Year’s Year of the Ox. She reveals the step-by-step lesson to cook like a master chef with the meanings behind all the ingredients.
A Writer’s Odyssey tells the story of Kongwen Lu, the author of a fantasy novel series following a heroic teenager on a quest to confront the demonic villain Redmane. Through a strange twist of fate, the fantasy world of the novel begins to impact life in the real world, leading Guan Ning to accept a mission to kill the author.
The film stars Dong Zijian (Ash is Purest White), Lei Jiayin (The Longest Day in Chang’an, Brotherhood of Blades), Yang Mi, Yu Hewei, Guo Jingfei, and Tong Liya.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with chef Anita Lo in regard to her cross-promotion tied to the film.
Anita Lo is a renowned Michelin star chef, Top Chef, and Iron Chef alum. In 2005, she was the first challenger to win Iron Chef America for its first season. Later, she competed in other cooking competitions, including Top Chef Masters and Chopped: All-Star Tournaments. In the past, she previously opened restaurants Rickshaw, a dumpling bar in several locations, Bar Q., barbecue-Asian fusion restaurant, and Anissa.
A Writer’s Odyssey releases in select theaters and drive-ins this Friday.
