Tom Holland Refused To Wear A Wig For Spider-Man 3

What If...? will feature Spider-Man

In a totally diva move (only joking Tom), Tom Holland refused to wear a wig on Spider-Man 3. Holland finally had to put his foot down on something with Marvel Studios and as far as this fan is concerned, it was the right moment to do so. Holland was filming Uncharted prior to Spider-Man 3 and had his hair cut short. Holland says his hair looked pretty cool, but that’s not Peter Parker, Parker isn’t cool. So Marvel had wanted him to wear a wig on the sides which would make his hair look longer. After seeing how bad it was, Holland refused to wear it. Marvel it seems relented and went with the wishes of their star man.

Holland revealed the incident when he spoke with Esquire recently.

“My hair in Uncharted is much cooler,” he stated. “I have cool shaved sides and it’s slick at the back, and that’s not very Peter Parker. He’s a bit of a loser. So they put this wig on me that was just around the sides. For the first time in my life, I put my foot down as the leading actor,” he reveals, “and was like, ‘I’m not [frick]ing wearing that wig. You can just…I’m going to have shorter hair and you’re going to have to deal with it.'”

Yeah, a bad wig can really become a moment of comedy for all the wrong reasons. Do I need pointy out the disastrous attempts to cover up Henry Cavill’s Moustache in Justice League? There are other examples we could go over, a bad wig can have a lasting impression.

I would certainly rather we just deal with Parker having shorter hair in Spider-Man 3. Easily explained away by a short hair cut scene. In fact, I’d have it become a funny moment where Parker, trying to disguise himself goes for a haircut. As soon as Parker leaves the barbers he gets recognized. Easy, funny and no more continuity issues.

Tom Holland refused to wear a wig in Spider-Man 3, was he right, or wrong? Thoughts below as always if you can.
