Anne Hathaway And Rebel Wilson Are Con Artists In The Hustle Trailer

Rebel Wilson sure is a busy gal. Later on today we’ll be posting our review of her new film Isn’t It Romantic, but in advance of that (some might say strategically), MGM has released the first trailer for yet another film of hers coming out this year called The Hustle.

The Hustle stars Rebel Wilson along with Anne Hathaway, and is a remake of the 1988 comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which stars Michael Caine and Steve Martin. In this new take, Rebel Wilson plays Rebel Wilson, and Anne Hathaway plays a high-level scammer ready to impart her knowledge onto Rebel Wilson’s character to pull off the ultimate crime.

Below is the official synopsis for The Hustle:

“In the hilarious new comedy THE HUSTLE, Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson star as female scam artists, one low rent and the other high class, who team up to take down the dirty rotten men who have wronged them.”

As with many comedy trailers, I have no idea how I feel about this. Some of the jokes land, but if you’re getting sick of Rebel Wilson’s shtick, then this may not be up your alley. Then again, I say this knowing I felt the same way about the film Spy, starring Melissa McCarthy, and that remains one of my all-time favorite comedies. So your mileage may vary.

The Hustle hits theaters on May 20, 2019. What do you think of this trailer? Does this new film hit the mark? Let us know your thoughts down below!
