You’ll know that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians 3 trailer were shown to the crowds at SDCC on Saturday. You’ll also probably know that footage was kept as an SDCC exclusive. That means you won’t find the footage online for now. Well….. You will find it, but the quality is terrible. I think anyone who risked it was being very careful not to be seen.
However for the thousands in Hall H, and all the press, the footage shown is now fact. So let’s take a minute to discuss all the new details we officially know about both movies. If you don’t want any details about either film, then why did you click the link? Bear in mind this information will now not be considered spoilers, pretty much everywhere.
Guardians 3
As you probably already knew, Chuk Iwuji is playing the High Evolutionary in the movie. You can even see Iwuji in costume in the image below.
However we also got confirmation of a few other details. It does seem like those rumors the plot will heavily revolve around Rocket are correct. There were scenes of Rocket as a child and a lot of focus on him. James Gunn said that Guardians 3 was the story of how Rocket has such a sad life. Gunn also reiterated that this is the end for this iteration of the Guardians team.
It was also shown that Gamora is back for Guardians 3 as expected, she now leads the Ravagers. Gunn talked about the heartbreak of how this Gamora does not even know Quill.
Quantumania
Quantumania looks great and it was confirmed that Bill Murray is in the film, probably paying Krylar. Cassie seems to get sucked into the Quantum Realm, that is the start point I think for this story. The team will head into the Quantum Realm and of course they come up against Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. MODOK was also confirmed and is played by Corey Stohl, who was of course once Darren Cross.

Kang looks like he has the familiar colored suit from the comics. However Kang is not blue-skinned here and is instead looks exactly like He Who Remains, the other version of this character played by Majors in Loki.
In one scene Scott Lang warns Kang that he’s an Avenger. To which a slightly confused Kang ponders whether he has already killed Lang previously. That suggests to us we are outside of linear time, also that Kang has killed many Avengers before.
So, this is what we have learned officially from the Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania and Guardians 3 trailer. What do you think? As always, leave any thoughts below or over on Discord.
