Anthony Daniels, who is considered by many fans to be Star Wars royalty, has wrapped shooting all of his scenes as the protocol droid C-3PO for the still untitled Star Wars: Episode IX. Daniels has appeared as C-3PO in all nine episodes of the Star Wars saga, but with the upcoming film said to be concluding the story of the Skywalker family, it may be his last appearance as the character (just speculation on my part).
Daniels posted the news on his Twitter account, implying the next film in the main saga, to quote Supreme Leader Snoke, will be, “Something truly special.” My feelings for The Last Jedi aside, I certainly hope he is right. You can check out the post below.
Today was 3PO's last on Episode IX. He's sad – so am I. But we're so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy. I'll miss everyone but I'm glad to know that we've been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world.

Kudos to you Mr. Daniels, and if this is the last of adventure of 3PO, thanks for being part of a series that made my and many other people’s childhoods so wonderful.
For haters of The Last Jedi, J.J. Abrams’ Episode IX will either restore their love of the Star Wars franchise or push them further away. If you’ve read any of my Star Wars articles you know where I stand, and if you haven’t, let’s just say, to put it mildly, I didn’t really care for it.
While I will of course watch the film, it is Star Wars after all, I don’t really feel excited for the film, and that’s a big change for me. Perhaps the only thing that I can think of to look forward to is the possibility of flashback scenes that may feature the original trio of Luke, Leia, and Han, or some combination there of, but who knows I may be pleasantly surprised in other ways, I genuinely hope that turns out to be the case.
