It’s a complete war in season two of Invasion on Apple TV+.

With the aliens finally revealing themselves, the remaining humans unite to create a plan to get rid of the extraterrestrials and solve the mystery of their intentions. These aliens aren’t waiting either by evolving as the humans interact with newer dangerous species.

In season two of Invasion, new alien species, spaceships, and many combat scenes require bigger and bolder special effects. VFX supervisor Erik Henry steps in to fulfill the promise of making this a very exciting season of the alien invasion series.

The series stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Paddy Holland, and Tara Moayedi. New series regulars joining season two include Enver Gjokaj, Nedra Marie Taylor, and Naian Gonzalez Norvind.

The second season picks up just months after the first season’s events, with the aliens escalating their attacks in an all-out war against the humans.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with VFX Supervisor Erik Henry about his involvement with the second season of Invasion. We discussed the new breeds of aliens introduced in the series and other special effects.

Erik Henry was also the VFX supervisor on season one of Invasion. Most recently, he conducted special effects for The Old Man and Westworld. He began his visual effects career with DreamQuest Images. In 1988, he worked in visual effects for James Cameron’s underwater film The Abyss and then for Total Recall a year later. Both films earned DreamQuest the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. He was a coordinator for supervisor Mike Fink on Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. Other credits included John Adams, Black Sails, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.

Season two has already debuted on Apple TV+ with a new weekly episode every Wednesday through October 25.
