Apple TV+’s Silo Trailer Has Trapped Silo Residents Wondering About Outside Post-Apocalyptic World

Rebecca Ferguson in Apple TV+ series Silo

In a post-apocalyptic society, a new world is regulated with fear and discipline, like the new Apple TV+ series Silo.

The original drama is based on the New York Times best-selling dystopian trilogy novels by Hugh Howey.

Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on Earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built, and any who tries to find out faces fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles into a mystery far more profound than she could have imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.

The ensemble cast joining Ferguson (Dune, Mission: Impossible films) includes Common (The Chi), Harriet Walter (Succession), Chinaza Uche (Dickinson), Avi Nash (The Walking Dead), David Oyelowo (Selma), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), and Tim Robbins (Mystic River).

Graham Yost (Band of Brothers, Justified) created the series and is the showrunner. Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) directed the first three episodes.

Silo appears to be a Fallout scenario of an entire community unaware of the world and self-government seeking to keep its power and control. The thriller looks interesting, and Ferguson is back in the leading role.

The ten-episode series premieres globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 5, with the first two episodes. The series will be followed with a new episode weekly every Friday through June 30, 2023.
