Aquaman Director Teases Villain’s Iconic Helmet In New Twitter Image

With Aquaman being the sole entry in the DC Extended Universe, there is a good amount of pressure on it to be good. However, with horror director James Wan at the helm, it seems likely they’ll be fine.

Of course, we know that star Jason Momoa will be reprising his role in the film, but in terms of baddies, we also know that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be taking on the role of the iconic Black Manta. For those who don’t know, Black Manta is the arch nemesis of Aquaman. Ironically enough, he is actually a human who is enhanced by the armor he wears.

What is perhaps most notable about the character (at least from a physical standpoint) is the helmet he wears. With its sort of squat appearance, it almost looks like the top of an alien head. While don’t know what the helmet will ultimately look like in the film, in a recent tweet from James Wan, the director teases the helmet with a goofy photo with Abdul-Mateen.

Obviously, this is a huge joke, but it does seem to emphasize that we will be seeing the helmet in the film.

It is nice to see how far along they are in the process of filmmaking. At this stage, they are in the process of looping, meaning that they’re going in and voicing over all the scenes with unusable dialogue (perhaps due to set noises or other reasons).
