Armageddon Time is currently getting plenty of film festival love, especially from its recent screening at the Telluride Film Festival. In anticipation of tomorrow’s first trailer, Focus Features released its poster for this coming-of-age family story.
The biggest positive of this dramatic film will be the very strong cast with Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables, The Dark Knight Rises), Jeremy Strong (Succession, The Trial of the Chicago 7), Banks Repeta (The Black Phone, The Devil All the Time), Jaylin Webb (David Makes Man, The Wonder Years), and Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs, Hitchock). No doubt, with that cast, it sets itself to be a talk for early awards.
The rest of the cast also includes Tovah Feldshuh (Lady in the Water, Just My Luck) and Ryan Sell (House of Cards). James Gray directed and wrote the film.
Here is the official storyline for Armageddon Time:
From acclaimed filmmaker James Gray, Armageddon Time is a deeply personal story of the strength of family, the complexity of friendship, and the generational pursuit of the American Dream.

Early buzz from critics has Armageddon Time as one of their top independent dramas. Director James Gray has a knack for storytelling, as demonstrated by past films like Ad Astra, The Lost City of Z, and The Immigrant. However, many critics may love the slow-burn type of storytelling but may lose audiences from this type of pacing.
Nonetheless, Gray fans will not be disappointed as early awards and Oscar buzz is already coming out from this film.
Armageddon Time is in select theaters on Friday, October 28, following a nationwide release on Friday, November 11.
Tune in tomorrow for the official trailer.
