Arnie To Attend SDCC19 And Bring Terminator: Dark Fate Footage With Him To Hall H

November 1 sees the return to theaters of the Terminator franchise, once a box office power house, though recent installments have removed much of the hype from the series. However, now that James Cameron is producing the next installment, billed as a true sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day, the execs at Paramount will be hoping to reignite some of the lost fanbase.

To help with this THR has reported that Paramount and Skydance are taking Terminator: Dark Fate to San Diego Comic-Con on July 18th in the famous Hall H at 11 a.m. PT. Arnold Schwarzenegger himself will be in attendance and Linda Hamilton, Natalia Reyes, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna and Diego Boneta are also expected to appear alongside the movie’s director, Tim Miller.

The outlet also reports that new footage is due to be screened at the event, and this would be the first new footage to appear since the initial teaser trailer hit the web. It would be fair to say that there were mixed reactions from fans around that teaser trailer. Some thought it was a glimpse at a return to form and others saw a tired old formula with nothing new to bring. Only the first two movies have really engaged me as a fan, and I’m not sure how much of that was the fact I grew up with those movies in the 80s and 90s?

I am more than likely going to see Terminator: Dark Fate, whereas I completely skipped Terminator: Genysis until it was free to watch. So I guess my interest has at least been piqued a little by Dark Fate, even if I don’t have any level of expectations for the movie. I am one of those fans that thinks a lot of franchises could do with disregarding poor sequels such as Alien, Predator and others. It’s also proved successful when it has happened thus far such as with Halloween 2018, so maybe there is something in it? More than likely it’s just Hollywood desperately trying to take as little risk as possible to earn some cash.
