When Tales of the Jedi was announced at Star Wars Celebration back in May there was thunderous applause when short clips revealed that part of the show would include Ahsoka Tano. While there wasn’t a ton of information shared about the show, it was revealed that the stories would revolve around a young Dooku and Ahsoka Tano. It was then when fans of Anakin’s padawan wondered if Ashley Eckstein would be back to voice the young Togurta.
In a recent interview with Sci Fi & Fantasy Gazette to promote the upcoming HerUniverse fashion show at San Diego Comic Con, Ashley got to talk about the upcoming show and her excitement.
“I am just beyond honoured to step back into Ahsoka’s boots and breathe life into her again for Tales of the Jedi. Dave Filoni promises me I would always be the voice of Ahsoka in animation, and I’m thrilled to return and so excited,” the actress teased. “The shorts are beautiful. The stories are wonderful. I can’t wait to share them with everyone.”

With the end of Star Wars Rebels fans had speculated of when we would be able to see Ahsoka again. Fans were excited when Ahsoka made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian last year but the hope of seeing her in animation were thought to be done. The recent announcement of Tales of the Jedi give fans another opportunity to see the animated version of Ahsoka. Fans of Ashley know that she has brought Ahsoka into everything she does in her life.
“I’m honoured to be able to do Tales of the Jedi, and when I’m not filling Ahsoka’s boots in animation, I’ve made it my, literally, life’s goal to be a real-life version of her day in and day out.”
Since Ahsoka first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie she has become a fan favorite among the community. The fame that followed Ashley Eckstein has allowed her to out in other business ventures including a fashion line, children books, and home products. Even though Ashley may not be voicing Ahsoka on a consistent basis she continues to put a little of the Togruta in everything she does in her life.
“She’s a piece of my heart and soul and guides my everyday decisions. I’m thrilled to be able to carry out Ahsoka’s legacy in my daily work as well. I can’t wait to share that show with everyone.”
